· President

· Secretary

· Campaigns Officer

· Events Coordinator

· Marketing Officer

· Social Secretary

· Treasurer

Below you can read the descriptions of all of the exec roles. Please do contact the current exec if you have any further questions about the roles to make sure that you run for a position that actually suits you. We highly encourage you to run for a position, being on the exec is a really rewarding experience and is definitely worth the effort!

To apply for a position, you can submit your name and chosen positions (you can run for multiple positions) on this form until 14th March 12.00 noon. https://forms.gle/ergz6VAHBSSvSny16

You will have to give a short speech of 3-5 minutes explaining why you think you are the most suitable person for the position. Keep in mind that you will have to give separate speeches for each position you run for! The speeches will have to be delivered at the Elections Event on 16th March.

Campaign’s Officer

There are three main parts to the role. The first and most prominent part is research. Research which campaigns may be relevant. Research who may be able to offer presentations or information that could assist the campaign. Research ideas as to how best to present this information. Secondly, play an instrumental part in planning and providing the information for campaign and infostand week. Thirdly, being a campaign’s officer means supporting the rest of the exec and helping wherever needed.

Current exec member: Evan James Curran-Ross

Events Coordinator

As the title indicates an Events Coordinator's primary responsibility is to coordinate the organisation and implementation of events. At Warwick Amnesty International such events may include workshops, presentations, film screenings and panels. It is essential for an Events Coordinator to stay on top of the planning process and to ensure all exec members are aware of their role regarding the event. The person taking over this exec position must also be ready to solve any problems that may arise within the organisation to guarantee the event runs smoothly. Lastly, an Event Coordinator should be able to come up with new events ideas. That is why this role is also in charge of reaching out to societies, external speakers, and organisations.

Current exec member: Aitana García Domingo

Marketing Officer

As Marketing Officer, your main role will be overseeing and managing all of the society’s social media. This includes creating the Facebook event pages and promoting them across Facebook (by sending them into groups and posting reminders for events) and on Instagram. To do this, the Marketing Officer must also create the designs for the event covers, so creativity and time management skills are needed to ensure events go up in time and are presentable. The role also involves replying to any messages received by the society’s social media. The marketing officer will need to coordinate with other members of the society to put all the necessary information about an event together to create the Facebook event page.

Current exec member: Emma White

Treasurer

As the Treasurer of Amnesty, your role will be to control the financial status of the society. This includes looking after the society’s account by communicating your expenses towards the university. You will be responsible for making money available for info stands, guest speakers and other events, and reimbursing your fellow exec members by filling out different forms. The SU’s tutorials will ensure that you have a thorough understanding of your tasks as Treasurer, and you will be working closely with the President on overviewing the society’s balance sheet.

Current exec member: Elio Loyola

Secretary

Your role will be to take care of most administrative matters, such as booking rooms, filling out forms and liaising with the SU. For this, you need to have very good organisational skills, to ensure that you always submit the necessary paperwork in time. You also have to work closely with other exec members and the SU, which requires good interpersonal communication skills.

Current exec members: Ari Hassan

Social secretary

Your main role is to organise and run socials. For this, you need to be creative, flexible and good at improvisation, as things rarely ever go as planned. You also need to be able to plan inclusive socials and ensure that all new members feel welcome and have a good time.

Current exec members: Richard Vaško and Ziyi Huang

President

The main role of the President is making sure that all the other exec members work together efficiently and that tasks are completed by the deadline. To do this, the President has to be organised and a team player. The role also includes sending out weekly newsletters, chairing Exec and Committee Meetings and communicating with other societies and our Student Action Network Representative, so good written and spoken communication skills are essential. Being the President requires a full commitment to the role (even amid academic deadlines!) and a passion for, and previous experience with Amnesty and its goals.

Current exec member: Sára Kende
